2012 Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival (MAJF) Is Around the Corner!

An annual weekend of jazz, MAJF returns for its 3^rd year, February 17-22 featuring Roy Haynes, Kim Burrell, Carmen Bradford, Terrell Stafford, Nicholas Payton, Warren Wolf, Winard Harper and more. “The 3rd annual Mid Atlantic Jazz Festival boasts a broad range of jazz styles and artists, “ writes Willard Jenkins, Jazz Journalist Association contributor. “However our 2012 festival could well come under the sub-head of The Year of the Drum. The drum being the heartbeat of any good jazz ensemble, the festival will be blessed with three of the greatest drummers on the planet, in separate irresistible engagements.” Also included are workshops, a high school band competition, and a jazz play for the family, Bud Not Buddy, produced in partnership with Adventure Theatre.
