Kelly comes to the DC Jazz Festival after serving as the Development Director for The Lenox Library in Lenox, Massachusetts; famous for Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Her responsibilities included major gifts, corporate sponsorships, annual appeals, and special events.
Prior to working for the library, she was the Executive Director of Wyck Association, a historic house and garden museum in Philadelphia and consulted in fundraising activities for the Polk Theatre in Lakeland, Florida. She brings more than 20 years of professional experience organizing a myriad of special events for historic house museums, the American Red Cross, schools and churches. Kelly started her career in sales and marketing before moving into philanthropy.
After earning her BA in Public Affairs from Indiana University, Bloomington, Kelly went on to receive an MBA with emphasis in marketing and historic preservation from Ball State University. In 2012, she received certification in Principles and Techniques of Fundraising from Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
She and her husband moved back to the Northern Virginia after an 11 year absence. Kelly is a member of the DC Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
