Her Excellency Lianys Torres Rivera, Chargé d´Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba to the United States, and the Board of Directors of the DC Jazz Festival cordially invite you and a guest to attend an exclusive Charles Fishman Embassy Series Concert and Reception featuring Son Cubano Subterraneo, in celebration of Cuba's Cultural Day.

Son Cubano Subterraneo brings the musical sounds of Cuba’s golden era (1950-60s) to life, right here in the nation’s capital. They are a six-piece ensemble of top-notch musicians and entertainers with a shared passion for Cuban “Son”, the musical style at the core of Latin Salsa dance music. Their sound includes authentic Cuban instruments and a deep repertoire of styles, tempos, and songs from all the greats, including Buena Vista Social Club, Beny More, Arsenio Rodriguez, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Oscar D’Leon, and many others. Son Cubano Subterraneo is fronted by singer Steven Falcon, a Cuban native and singer extraordinaire who has performed around the world with some of the greats of Cuban Son. He’s joined by bandleader and Cuban tres player Josh Schneck, Fran Vielma on congas, Eduardo Padua on bongos and hand percussion, Cristian Perez on guitar, and Jimmy Rioja on upright bass.
