DC Jazz Festival presents a celebration of the life and legacy of the great jazz innovator Wayne Shorter featuring The Paul Carr Quintet with special guest Sean Jones.

Wayne Shorter, legendary jazz saxophonist, composer, and bandleader, is widely regarded as one of the most influential saxophonists in jazz history. Shorter has been a prominent figure in the jazz world since the 1960s, known for his distinctive sound, innovative compositions, and improvisational skills. He has played with iconic jazz musicians such as Miles Davis, Art Blakey, and Weather Report, and has released numerous acclaimed albums both as a leader and a sideman. Shorter's contributions to jazz have earned him multiple Grammy Awards and widespread recognition as a jazz master.
