LEARN MORE

A prelude to the DC Jazz Festival, this tribute to Jazz in DC is one you do not want to miss. Presented by Ayo featuring the Bohemian Caverns Jazz Orchestra, this show will be honoring DC Jazz legends and pioneers, Duke Ellington, Shirley Horn, Ruth Brown and Blanche Calloway. It will also be honoring the 60th anniversary of the release of Jazz Samba, the record that championed Bossa Nova to the world. With the help of Ken Avis, as our host and historical narrator and arrangements by DC's own Elijah Balbed, come join us for a night to remember as we celebrate the legacy of Jazz Music in DC.

This event is also a scholarship fundraiser for students at Duke Ellington School of the Arts.
