Washington Is Our Home

Since its inception, DC Jazz Festival has been a steadfast and vocal advocate for our hometown of Washington, DC.

We are proud to be part of such an inclusive, culturally diverse jazz community, and we will always stand with the artists, venues and audiences that make the District so special.

The unprecedented events that took place yesterday at the Capitol and around DC were an historic display of terror and an attempt to undermine American democracy. These types of behaviors and actions have no place in our country, and we must work together to chart a path toward justice and equality for all.

As arts leaders and as citizens in our community, let’s continue to work toward a common purpose guided by our democratic principles. Our jazz community plays a special role as change-makers; what we do and what we say matters.

We are more than blue or red. We are personally connected to Washington, DC and to our issues. Let’s remain committed to building a better future for our community.

It's time to get to work.
